Confirmation Retreat

Letter to Deaneries:

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ

In response to the great need of deepening the catechetical and spiritual formation of our confirmation candidates, the brothers and sisters of the Neo-Catechumenal Way have availed themselves to serve the Archdiocese in this regard.

They, the team formed by catechists, consisting of a priest, seminarian and married couple will start with Saturday meetings.

Parishes will be grouped according to the date of Confirmation.

This initial meeting starts as a promise of many more encounters with our young people.

The youth will also have an opportunity to be exposed to other young people outside the parish sharing the same desire to deepen their faith inside the reality of the Catholic Church.

The consistency of these encounters will act as an opportunity to receive permanent Christian formation in the Church, and above all making young people feel that the Church has reached out to them on a more personal level.

It is my desire that this initiative be supported at all levels of the deanery and above all that young people feel a sense of continual support in their adult life of faith.

Please find attached the details.

Yours in Christ

+William Slattery

Archbishop of Pretoria
